Course Description

Participants will learn how to create and use PivotTable reports to quickly summarize and manipulate large amounts of data. After creating PivotTable reports, we will explore PivotCharts – a flexible chart based on the data in a PivotTable.

Course Topics

  • Create a blank PivotTable report from an Excel list or database

  • Lay out the PivotTable report

  • Remove a field from the PivotTable report        

  • Format a data field       

  • Filter a PivotTable report using page fields

  • Sort a PivotTable report

  • Update a PivotTable report

  • Change the Summary function for a data field

  • Move or add fields to the PivotTable report

  • Group or ungroup a field

  • Hide and unhide items in a PivotTable report

  • Create a separate worksheet for each page field

  • Show or hide detail for an item

  • Display underlying source data for a data cell

  • Format a PivotTable report using AutoFormat

  • Insert a calculated field

  • Print sections of a PivotTable report on separate pages

  • Create a PivotChart report based on an existing PivotTable

  • Create a blank PivotChart report based on a database

  • Change the chart type in a PivotChart report
