Course Description

In this class, participants will learn how to use templates, import data, manage a project, analyze and adjust a project plan, and work with reports. Also, custom views, macros, custom fields, and managing multiple projects will be explored. This class builds upon the topics covered in the Project 2010 Introduction course.

  • Convert a project file to a template

  • Create a project from a template

  • Import data from other applications into a Project file

  • Save and update a baseline plan

  • Mark tasks as completed

  • Update actual start and finish dates and tasks in progress

  • Mark tasks as being on track

  • Update actual work performed

  • Use Earned Value table to monitor actual and estimated tasks costs

  • Check progress in Network Diagram view

  • Analyze project statistics, slippage, and slack

  • Reschedule a project by splitting tasks

  • Delay resource work

  • Assign overtime

  • Resolve conflicts using the Task Inspector

  • Inactivate tasks

  • Manage resource assignments using Team Planner view

  • Create and print reports

  • Save a project file in PDF or XPS format
