Course Description

This introductory class is a must for anyone who will be using Word 2003. You will learn the basic functions necessary to create memos, correspondence, and reports.

 

Course Topics

  • Execute menu bar commands using the keyboard

  • Use a shortcut menu and a keyboard shortcut

  • Work with toolbars and toolbar buttons

  • Display or hide the task pane

  • Create a new document

  • View a document and change document view

  • Display/hide nonprinting formatting marks

  • Print a document

  • Save a file

  • Close a document window and open an existing document

  • Use the find and replace features

  • Use click and type

  • Use the Go To command

  • Use the scroll tips to display a page

  • Select, insert, and delete text

  • Replace selected text

  • Undo and redo actions

  • Insert the current date, a symbol, and a file

  • Use the Autocorrect feature

  • Replace text with symbols

  • Correct spelling and grammar errors and use the thesaurus

  • Switch between open documents

  • Move and copy text and use the paste options button

  • Collect and paste multiple items

  • Print an envelope and labels

  • Create and edit a header or footer

  • Insert and delete a hard page break

  • Apply formats using the Styles and Formatting task pane

  • Change margins and paper size

  • Insert a section break

  • Format a paragraph

  • Copy formatting using the format painter

  • Apply bullets or numbering

  • Indent a paragraph using indent markers

  • Use the Reveal Formatting task pane

  • Set custom tabs

  • Create a table and select in a table

  • Erase a table cell line

  • Enter text in a table and resize a table
